YogaChamps secondary school programs focus on independent and group activities that stimulate preteens’ physical strength, emotional balance and self-confidence. Partner poses and cooperative yoga games generate positive peer interactions, helping to develop strong relationship skills which will be transmitted into everyday life. By working together, children build trust, care and respect for one another.
These classes also focus on stress management and developing a basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology. Breathing exercises and mindful meditation assist children in calming down and teaches them how to control strong emotions they are likely to experience during their teenage years.
Each class ends with guided image relaxation, which provides a calm, tranquil and quiet environment at the end of each class. With their eyes closed and undertaking gentle, focused breathing, kids are able to fully embrace all the benefits that yoga has to offer!
